Dorothy L. Sander, 88, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Terrace at Solarbron. She was born November 27, 1928, in Evansville, to the late Roy R. and Laura (Claridge) Criswell.
Dot and Bill were married December 18, 1949 at Old North United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and riding motorcycles with her husband. She was a mother and homemaker until her children were older. She then went to work at J.E. Hanger and was employed there for 20 years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Sander, and daughter, Julie Sander McManis.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Sander; grandchild, Kelly A. McManis; sister, Royal Wortman; nieces, Pam Prasek, Jamia Dixon, Jan Dole, Amanda Knowles, Patricia Day and Susan Adams, and nephews, John and Tom Criswell and Christopher Wortman.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM, Monday January 16, 2017at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00PM to 6:00PM, Sunday January 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
