Doug Kennedy was a kind and generous person 

Today, though in grief, I am thankful. Thankful for the times we shared exploring the creek banks. Thankful for the trips around the moon, using old metal kitchen chair frames as rockets. The times spent jumping from the couch to the chair, back to the couch, all to avoid the lava pit or quicksand or whatever danger was lurking that day. For the squirt gun fights, the nightly walks to the royal to get a bag of Doritos and a sprite. The roller coaster rides, concerts, burns and numerous other memories we’ve shared. You were  more a best friend and brother than my cousin. My heart is broken, but thankful you don’t have to be in pain or suffering ever again.  I will forever cherish our times together. TTFN Doug. BTW when I get there, I’m gonna want that piece of my heart back. 


Pattie, I just read Davys remarks and he said it all. Doug was part of our family and he will be missed. He was funny and he loved you and Kasey. I hope he finds Bob. He has been in heaven 6 years. I know they will have a lot to talk about. Our prayers are with you.

I am so sad to hear that Doug had passed.
 We enjoyed alot of laughs while working together at T.J.Maxx.
 Your post on FB will truly be missed as you will also be missed.

I worked for Rural King for 7 years and always liked talking to Doug, I am sorry for your loss . Doug was always helpful and friendly when I would stop at whatever store he was working at.

Patti, Kasey, and family,
I'm sadden and so very sorry for your loss. The world was a better place because of Doug. He was a kind, compassionate, caring, and giving individual. We grew up together and knew one another for most of our life. I had the honor of being his friend, but thought of  him as a brother. 
We went to  Cedar  Hall and Central High school where we both played  in the band and graduated from. Doug played a saxophone. 
We were in Boy  Scouts, church youth group, played chuch leage basket ball, went to foot ball games in St.Louis. and have so many special memories  of quality time together there's  not enough to  room to list them hear . 
Patti, I can still envision you in the old big bulky orange life vest while 
 in the boat on Patka lake. Your were gorgeous.  We were camping out on our lots. 
I loved his intellect, dry since of humor, and face book post. My favarite post was about the mouse trap. Doug told me he used  his post to lighten up face  book from all the nonsense many others posted that didn't need that type of "crap" posted. 
The last time I had the opportunity to see you and Doug was at my fathers visitstation. You listened while we reminisced about our past experiences together. I remember you couldn't belive I got out of his car while it was moving, when snow was  on the ground, because of car trouble he couldn't stop.
Doug will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He touched so many people's lives. Everyone liked Doug.
I loved him as if he was  my brother.  I will always love him and miss him. Know he lives in my heart forever.

I send, from the bottom of my heart , my sincerest sympathy and condolences. Doug loved you and Kasey more than words can describe. You both were his life. Life on this earth is so short, but our real home is in heaven. As you celebrate Dougs life thank God for your time with Doug. Jesus is the creator of all life. Jesus loves you!

 
 

Doug was a great co-worker he was funny,kind,and compassionate person who was there if you needed him I got the pleasure of working with Doug at rural king. He will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers to his family. I will miss your funny post you made daily. Rih

I am truly sorry for your loss. Doug was an awesome soul. His sense of humor was top notch, especially his last few years posting hilarious stories on fb! What a tremendous void his passing will leave. This is hard...Doug was a good part of my childhood as well as the Kennedy Family. My heart goes out to all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 💛❤

Doug was a great friend and fork truck driver  he was always there to help and encourage fellow workers.  He went out of his way to help a new driver who was in trouble with a rack of windshields  dangling  in between  lower racks. It was an amazing  feat that he mznage to save the rack and the young driver from  disaster.  I  will miss his laughter and his wit. God bless you in heaven as he blesses your  love ones .

We have so many memories to even start to list them. He taught us about creek potatoes on our first camping adventure together. Always make them camping and a version of them at home.  Super Bowl parties each year, fire pit talks and there is always what we shared from TJ. His posts about Blankie forts, the famous and legendary kazoo band to his traditional Forklift Driver Appreciation Day and the activities he planned.  RIP my friend. Heaven has gained an infamous person. There will be no other like you

Doug made me laugh whenever he posted on Facebook 😂. I will miss his lengthy hilarious posts and his kind ❤️.  

I grew up next to the Kennedy family and spent more summers there than I did at my own house. Doug bought the laughter from as far back as I can remember and as we say farewell, I thank God for allowing me to grow up in his smile.
