Edward Lewis Erickson

Ed was an active member of the Evansville Astronomical Society and Tri-State Athletic Club, where he swam daily. He was an Adjunct Instructor in the Engineering Department at the University of Evansville and retired from Whirlpool after 38 years, where he was a Metallurgist. He was famous for handing out Werther’s candies to everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Betty Erickson; and close friend, Mary Chapman.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Mary Erickson, Jean Hadley and Anne Wells (Steve); grandchildren, David Lambert, Lauren Hart, Christopher Wells and Melissa Etzler; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Ethan Etzler of Indianapolis and Haley Hart.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
