

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Ed was born in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from Seton Hall University. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and later joined General Foods Corp. in NY. During his 30 year career, he was transferred to Evansville and served as comptroller at their Iglehart Plant. He was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Church.
Ed was a golfer, avid reader and had a passionate interest in Democratic politics. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alberta; five children, Patty (George) Holt, Lakewood, CO, Anne (Bob) Hubele, West Franklin, IN, Ed (Tina) Foley, Jenkintown, PA, Jeanne (Joe) Dwyer, Evansville, and Maureen Hinsey, Corpus Christi, TX. Also surviving him are seven grandchildren, Shawn Hinsey, Arlington, VA, Catherine and Steven Armstrong both of Evansville, Hannah, Ellen and Teddy Foley all of Jenkintown, and Tim Dwyer of Evansville.
Special and sincere thanks go to the caring staff and friends of Ed and Alberta at North Park Nursing Center. Also, thanks to VistaCare Hospice who made Ed’s last hours comfortable.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd, Evansville, officiated by Father Paul Ferguson. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4770 Covert Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.
