Ernestine was a delight!  Her greatest joy was helping others and she dedicated her life to finding that 'special something' that would be perfect for some child or adult she knew.  What a better world this would be if we all would follow her example! Ernestine, you are home with the Lord now.  Rest in peace knowing how much you are remembered with love and a smile.

I have never met anyone like Ernestine, She always put everything before herself. She opened my eyes to so many things, Always had a great history lesson for me. Prayers to her family, I feel like I know you and all of her many friends as well. Wednesday morning will not be the same you are already missed. It was an honor to know Ernestine from the moment I met her in 2007 at the graveside service for a man who'd tragically died while homeless. Ernestine you always had a smile and wanted to help the homeless any way you could I worked at the United Caring for 14 yrs. Always asked is there anything you need and she would put the word out and she would be back with it in her had. You are an Angel. Becky Talley

I have known Ernestine all of my life. She was always watching out for everyone in the neighborhood. Even though she is older than my mother, she looked out for her, too.  Ernestine is a wonderful person and she has touched many, many lives.  I know she is with the Lord, Jesus, now and I'm sure she is dancing with Him.

John and Bill, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom.  What a great lady.  I was fortunate to cross paths with her many times in the last few years and she was always bright and caring. She looked in on my mother-in-law just because she knew she needed it.  Always thinking of others.  I have fond memories of our childhood spent on Blackford and y'all are a big part of that.  Guess Mrs. Parson is the last one left! God bless you in this time of sorrow.

It was an honor and pevilege to know Ernie. She was decidedly a light in my life! We had lots of giggles, tears and meaningful silences.I was delighted to learn she was a Castalian at Evansville Collge (now Uof E)at the same time as my sister.. later I joined them in the special sisterhood.Enjoy your new life Sis.

One could only aspire to touch as many lives as this beautiful women did in her lifetime.   The world lost an Angel on earth when she passed.  Will miss her every day.  My love to Bill and John, we all know what a great woman she was.  We were privileged to have her in our family.

Ernestine was an inspiration to all fortunate enough to know her. I had the privilege of working with her at Sister Joanns's Table ( the Soup Kitchen). She loved all people and worked joyfully and energetically to help people in need in any way she could. Ernestine was sensitive to the problems and needs in the lives of her friends in need, finding the exact things needed--a pair of socks, mittens, XL pair of slacks, etc. she would arrive with the trunk of her car a "treasure chest" for all. She always had books for children and adults often trying to meet special requests of indiduals--bird books and calendars for one person, history books for another, and always a supply of Bibles which were in great demand. We all loved her deeply and this corner of the world has lost a dear soul. Ernestine will live on in the minds, hearts, and souls of the many lives she touched.

Though I did not know your mother it sounds like she was very active in the community.  What a good example for her family.
