Eula Vaughan Christy

Eula (Vaughan) Christy passed away at home unexpectedly on October 4, 2012 in Evansville. She was born on September 17, 1929 to Jeff and Helen (Childress) Vaughan in Fairfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Christy, Sr. in 1989 after 33 years of marriage.

Eula was a long time member of First Christian Church, Evansville and had volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over 20 years.

She is survived by daughters, Patti Lear Davis (Randy) of O’Fallon, MO, Nancy Effinger (Jeff) of Evansville, Sarah Gennicks (Ken) of Athens, IL; son, Edward Christy, Jr. (Lori) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Christy Effinger Scavuzzo (Louis), Andrew Effinger (Sabrina), Paul, Joe, and Tim Effinger, Kyle Gennicks (Colleen), Keith Gennicks, Maggie and Wallace Christy; great-grandchild, Seth Gennicks; sisters, Alkie Mugrage (Jim), Mary Helen Bondy; brother-in-law, Marty Christy (Ann); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Christy and Phil Christy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 9:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2012 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Ken and Kyle Gennicks with a graveside service to follow at noon at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, IL. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Meals on Wheels (Evansville) or American Cancer Society.
