Floyd Charles Moreland

Floyd Charles Moreland, 86, of Evansville, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010, at the Evansville Protestant Home after an extended illness. He was born December 4, 1923, in Gridley Kansas to Floyd and Helen Moreland. He was united in marriage to Ida Jean Mayes on November 28, 1942.
Floyd was a veteran of the Navy during WWII and worked at both Stearman Aviation and Funk Brothers Aviation. He was a retired Sales and Service Engineer from McNally Pittsburgh Manufacturing. Floyd was a private pilot for a great part of his adult life and was a co-founder of Skylane Pilot’s Association at Skylane Airport. He was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Jean and his two sisters.
Floyd is survived by his children, Floyd Steven Moreland (Mary) and George Moreland of Evansville; and daughter, Margie Huebschmann (Glenn) of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren, Kelly Tyner, Sarah Kitzinger, Anthony Moreland, Wade Hames, Emily Seipert, Lorri Wiederkehr, Lisa Goeppner, Kim Wilhite, and Rob Huebschmann; and great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jerry Clark. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to each individual’s favorite charity.
