Genevieve Schwindel

She was a charter member of Nativity Catholic Church and received the Brute Award in 1993. Genevieve was a current member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed working at the church socials, fish fries, dinner and rummage sales. Genevieve worked at Fendrick Cigar Factory until its closing, then worked at Whirlpool Corporation, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed working in the yard and gardening with her late husband, Robert.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schwindel and grandson, Robert Merritt.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Miller (Dan) of Naples, FL, Donna Jones (Charles Mattingly) of Evansville, Linda Mattingly (Bill) of Evansville and Diane Merritt (Bruce) of Evansville; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1304 S. Green River Road, officiated by Fr. Bernie Etienne, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until Mass at the church.
