George W. Melton

George Wayne Melton, 76, of Evansville, IN passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born in Bumpus Mills, TN to the late Armon and Thelma Melton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim. George was an honest, old-school, hardworking man. His word and a handshake meant something. George loved to dance, play golf and play games. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy (Hunt) Melton; daughters, Denise Melton, Sherry Melton Franks, Deshay Melton; son, Joey W. Melton; 11 grandchildren; 20 ½ great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy, Dick and Paul; and sister, Ruth. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 PM, Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Keck Avenue Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Dane Gray and Pastor Marshall Locke.
