George L. Nance, 91, of Evansville, IN passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born in Petersburgh, IN on June 28, 1929 to the late Arthur and Lucy Nance.
He was a long time employee of the US Postal Service, where he served as a union steward to advocate for his fellow co-workers. After retirement, he served as a courier for H&R Block. He was an Army Veteran. George was a member of Forest Hills Wesleyan Church. He loved traveling, was an avid gardner who loved to share his vegetables with others, he also loved baking bread and sharing with others.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Nance; brothers, James Errol Nance, Millard Nance; sisters, Emma Fern Thomas, Lavina Gwendolyne Wainman, Beatrice Mozelle Evans, Cecil Vivian Spooner, Mary Wandalee Parker; several nephews.
He is survived by his son, Brad Nance; daughter, Shelley Nance; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel officiated by Rev. Ray Austin with Entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Cemetery Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Forest Hills Wesleyan Church.
