

Georgetta (Alexander) Miller, 104, of Henderson, KY passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at her home. She was born on February 13, 1920 in Oakland City, IN to the late A.D. Alexander and Gladys (Glezen) Alexander.
Georgetta grew up in Evansville, IN and graduated from Reitz High School in 1938. She was very proud to be the school’s first female Drum Major.
She graduated in 1940 with an Associates in Art Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and later with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Evansville in 1965.
In 1941, Georgetta married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. Miller, who served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. They moved to Henderson, KY to raise their family.
She retired in 1980 from the Henderson County School System where she taught second grade for twenty one years at Jefferson Elementary and Seventh Street Elementary Schools.
She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Iota, and Evansville D.A.R., a Kentucky Colonel, member of First Methodist Church in Henderson, KY, and member of the Kentucky Retired State and Local Teachers Association.
Georgetta’s hobbies included playing bridge, mahjong, jigsaw puzzles and weekly luncheons. She was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth G. Alexander (1995); sister-in-law, Barbara Alexander (2001); and niece, Kay (Alexander) Clark (2001).
Georgetta is survived by her sons, Robert L. Miller, and David R. Miller; grandchildren, Carol Kyle, Julie Miller-Hill (Cheryl), Bryan Miller, Christina Collett; great-grandchildren, Bobby Allen Dean, Daniel Kyle, Kayelyn Hill, Nicki Hill, Myles Alexander Miller, Michael David Collett, and Emma Renae Lyczkowski (Brian); great-great-grandchildren; Sophie Dean, Temprance Dean, Maverick Lyczkowski; nephew, Thomas A. Alexander (Sherry); and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S. Green Street, Henderson, KY 42420.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, January 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN 47712.
A private funeral service will be held with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720.
