Glen was a remarkable man whose heart was truly as pure as gold. He graduated from Paul Harding High School, where he was a track star and carried a lifelong love for the sport. Above all else, Glen was a devoted and loving father, a title he held close to his heart. His unwavering love for his children earned him recognition as Father of the Year in a newspaper article that captured his devotion to his beloved children. That same devotion carried over to his grandchildren, whom he adored and was always there for.
Glen had a deep love for family and was committed to his community. He valued volunteering and giving back to his community in many ways, including donating his vehicles and other items to those who were less fortunate. Glen greatly enjoyed fishing with his children, a hobby that his dad was also passionate about. He cherished his dog, Fefe, and was passionate about boxing and basketball, especially the Los Angeles Lakers and his favorite player, Kobe Bryant. He could often be found enjoying the Nintendo game, Ms. Pac-Man, which was his top favorite. He was an avid storyteller whose stories made you feel like you were right there with him. A proud collector of cars, coins, and basketball cards, Glen appreciated the items he collected and saw value in everything.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dwayne Meriwether.
Glen is survived by his partner, Bonnie Powell; sons, Glen E. Meriwether, Jr., Joe William Meriwether, and Anthony W. Meriwether (Laquitta); daughters, Kelly Robertson, Tarassa Powell and Michelle Young (Chad); son, Derek Ridley; grandchildren, Ta’vae Meriwether, Adriyn Meriwether, Jacari Meriwether, Arianna Rountree, A’layah Meriwether, Anthony Meriwether, Ace Meriwether, Lelan Robertson, Nathan Robertson, Jr., Bella Robertson, Chance Robertson, La’chell Young, and Chad Young, Jr.; brother, Darryl Meriwether; and nieces and nephews.
