He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He grew up in Poole, KY and spent his teenage and adult years on the west side of Evansville. He was a 1952 graduate of Reitz High School. He worked at Kent Plastics and Ball Plastics Corporation for 39 years. After retirement, he continued to work at the Vanderburgh County Sherriff’s office as a process server, and Helfrich Hills Golf Course. He was a proud member of the R-Men’s Club. He enjoyed playing recreational league softball, golf, bowling, playing clabber and gardening. His favorite past time was grilling while entertaining family and friends. He was a member of Howell General Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Mary (Allen) Hunter; son, Jeffrey Allen Hunter; brother, Robert Hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Wanders. His son, Michael (Evelyn) and granddaughter, Beth; his brother, Doug Hunter. He is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many dear neighbors and friends.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice of New Albany, IN for caring for Guy like their own family.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at Alexander West Chapel at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at Alexander West Chapel on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
