

Dr. Harold W. Roth, D.D.S., 93, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1922, in Evansville, to the late Walter and Minnie (Wellmeier) Roth.
He was a lifelong resident of Evansville. Harold attended Howard Roosa and Bosse High Schools. He graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1944 and practiced dentistry for 41 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Sigma Pi and Delta Sigma Delta Fraternities, the American Dental Association, and the First District Dental Society. He was an Army Veteran, serving in the Army Dental Corps during WWII. Harold was an active member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, serving on the church council, various committees, and in the church choir. He was a charter member of Evansville Industrial Foundation, Life Master of Duplicate Bridge, and a member of Century Club, having visited over 120 different foreign countries and islands. He enjoyed antique collecting, restoring and reproduction, construction of model aircraft, ships, and dollhouses. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing and working with computers.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma (Flach) Roth; and sisters, Eloise Rhodes and Marian Stevens.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Michael) Caufield; granddaughter, Emily (Brendon) Meier; great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Meier; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2015, at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, 415 Northwest Fifth Street, officiated by Rev. Kimron Reising, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
The family wishes to thank Aseracare Hospice, including Dr. Karl Sash, “Dr.” Robert, Stephanie and Jessica, Senior Helpers, including Kay and Carolyn, and Ed and Nancy, managers of Willow Park, for the compassionate care given to Harold.
