

Helen Vicki Bryant Birkhead passed away Friday, October 17, 2014, at West Park Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 16, 1928, to the late Otle W. and Lorene Tabor Bryant in McLean County, KY.
After moving to Springfield, IL in 1931 they moved to Evansville in 1942. She was a 1946 graduate of Central High School. Vicki was a vocalist with Boots Randolph, Bud Rose and Jimmy Wilkerson at the Blue Bar in Evansville and with Virgil Jackson at the Alibi Club in Henderson. She also worked with Boots Randolph at the Carosel Club in Nashville, TN. After living in Florida for several years she returned to Evansville in the early 1990’s.
Vicki is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James “Jay” W. Bryant.
She is survived by her niece, Vicki Watkins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nephews, Jay G. Bryant (Karol) of Evansville, Mason L. Bryant (Simona) of Ft. Benning, GA; sister-in-law, Dolores Diamond Bryant; great-nieces, Heather Watkins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Megan Goldsberry (Jerry) of Evansville, and Elisabetta Bryant of Ft. Benning, GA; great-nephews, Zachery Watkins (Karen) of Hanscom AFB, MA, Mason N.L. Bryant and Jesse Bryant of Evansville, Benjamin Bryant of Ft. Benning, GA; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Chaplain John Hilbert, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
