Helen M. Rice

Helen Marie Fray Rice, of Evansville, formerly of Philpot, KY, passed away peacefully and painlessly at 7:00PM, Thursday, March 1, 2018 after a sudden illness. She was born October 27, 1930 in Henderson County, KY to Clifford and Flossie (Carter) Fray. She was a wonderful wife, mom and second mother to many. Helen was a master homemaker who was an excellent cook and seamstress, making all her children’s clothes. She was a letter writer and AVID FACEBOOK FANATIC and enjoyed genealogy research. Helen was preceded in death by Glen Rice, her husband of 55 years. She is also preceded in death by sister, Oneida Sharber, and brother-in-law, Bob Rice. She is survived by daughters, Lisa Mills (Jay), Becky Rice (Ric Zeigler), Glenna Markle (Scott) and Julie Coomes (Mike); sister, Kathleen Smith; sister-in-law, Carol Colburn; grandchildren, David, Katrina, Ann, Dusty, Adam, Kyle, Jenny and Jared; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family. A Funeral Service will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00PM, Monday, March 5, 2018 and Tuesday from 9:00AM to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mended Little Hearts of Evansville, IN.
