Isaiah Remington Van Hook of Evansville, IN entered the kingdom of heaven on September 8, 2022 in his mother’s arms surrounded by those who loved him most. He was born on April 9, 2022 in Evansville, IN.
Isaiah’s life was short, but the impact and joy he brought this earth will last on until the end of time. Isaiah will be remembered as the happiest baby who loved to smile and giggle. He loved when his mommy sang to him, especially in the rocking chair. He also loved his daddy’s tickles and funny faces. Isaiah was adored by everyone who knew him and loved him. We will never understand why the Lord decided to take him home so soon, that his mission for this life was completed so much sooner than we expected. He is sitting on the lap of Jesus in the kingdom of heaven waiting for us all to join him again.
He is proceeded in death by his great grandmother, Viola Burger; great grandmother, Maxine Anderson, great grandmother, Betty Morrison, great grandfather, James Carl Van Hook, Sr., great grandmother, Deborah Melton, great grandfather, Phil Adkins; and great uncle, Brian Adkins.
Isaiah is survived by his mother, Kathryn Van Hook, his father, William Van Hook; his brother, Eli Van Hook; grandparents, Dr. Mark & Patricia Morrison, Lorie and James Van Hook, and Jennifer Adkins; great grandmother, Carolyn Kemper; aunt and uncles, Hadley Duvall, Kristin and Michael McLaughlin, Dr. John and Emily Morrison, Samuel Morrison, Dr. Paul Morrison, Gideon and Patricia Van Hook, Rachel and Ralph Higginbotham, Lauren Van Hook; cousins, Claire Morrison, Josiah Van Hook and David McLaughlin; and many more loved ones.
The family would like to thank all of the first responders, including the Evansville Fire Department, the EMS crew, and the Evansville Police Department for their quick response and measures they took to try and save Isaiah.
The family would also like to thank Deaconess Midtown Hospital emergency department, the pediatric intensive care doctors and nurses with Deaconess.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Riley Children Hospital PICU. The entire team at Riley showed so much compassion and love to Isaiah in his final days. And to the entire family. The endless resources and empathy during this tragedy is work only angels can do.
Isaiah’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at The Cathedral, 5000 N. First Avenue, officiated by Pastors James and Julie Wells, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at church, and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
