He owned Crowes Tree Service for over 20 years and served in the Navy from 1954-1957.
He also loved to work and was very involved with his family.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Danna (Prince) Crowe in 1992; and his parents, John and Ida Crowe.
He is survived by his sons, David Stone, John Crowe, and Brian Crowe; sister, Myrtle Brown; grandchildren, D.J. Crowe, Jacob Crowe, Christopher Crowe, and Shelby Crowe; and nephew, James Kidd.
Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mark Brewer and Rev. Ted Totsch, with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2011 and 10:00 AM to 12 Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
