He served in the Navy aboard the USS Pine Island and USS Antietam. He was a musician, forming the band Cracker Jaxc’s after coming home from the military. He played for the Pancake Days and at the Farmers Market. Mike enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, bicycling, roller skating, spot shooting, and woodworking. Mike retired from Whirlpool after 30+ years, employed as a model maker.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James David and Rose Kennedy; sisters, Odie Harlan and Chris Mary McBride, and brothers, Gordon and Samuel Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnilee.
Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 15, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Payne with entombment in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
