Obituary of Rev. James A. Pickerill
Reverend James A. Pickerill, 75, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home. He was born in Owensboro, KY on April 1, 1946. Jim attended Harrison High School. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1963 until 1973 where Jim was a criminal investigator and served in Vietnam. Following his military career, he worked at Mead Johnson as a power plant operator. He was ordained as a General Baptist Minister and served several churches. After his retirement, he enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelbert and Margaret Pickerill; sister, Janice Henry; great grandson, Carter Pickerill. Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen K. (Hicks) Pickerill; daughter, Jama K. Pickerill; son, Kirk Pickerill (Dana); grandchildren, Amber Kemplen (Jesse), Mitchel Pickerill (Ariah); great grandchildren, Lukas, Isabella, and Eli; brother, Robert Pickerill; sisters, Kristi Harris (Eric) and Dolly Williams (Brian). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Alexander North Chapel with live streaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00 -7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 and Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
