James E. Whitney, 88, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born on August 1, 1933 in Beech Creek, Kentucky to Pete and Geraldine (Fleming) Whitney.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for S&S Express as a truck driver. James was a member of Christ Chapel.

James was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Inita Whitney; son, James T. Whitney; step-daughter, Rhonda Robling; stepson, Johnny Forker; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel with Tim Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
