James E. Wuerth, 93, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on July 7, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Home. James was born on October 25, 1926 to the late Valentine Claude Wuerth and Mary Anna (Miller) Wuerth in St. Marie, Illinois.
Jim was a graduate of Reitz Memorial High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in the Pacific Theater attaining the rank of Sergeant. Jim was employed at Chrysler Corporation then became an outside salesman for Smith & Butterfield Office Supplies for 30 years. He was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a member of the Holy Spirit Men’s Club, and a life member of VFW Post 1114. He was privileged to go on Honor Flight EVV9 white bus. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wuerth in 2017; and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughters, Cathy (Ron) McConnell, Lisa (Scott) VanMeter, Karen (Glenn) Fischer; sons, Tom Wuerth, Scott (Amanda) Wuerth; grandchildren, Chris (Christina) Clodfelter, Jarrod McConnell, Cameron Wuerth, Lauren (Cory) Kissel, Tyler VanMeter, Emily (Jason) Hancock, John and Adam Fischer, Tyler Stotlar, Grant and Eli Wuerth; great-grandchildren, Claire Clodfelter, Caroline, Hudson, and Parker James Hancock, Lydia Kissel; sister, Marie Dunn; nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, officiated by Father Ted Tempel with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, Evansville, Indiana, Sunday, July 12, 2020.
