Janice A. Johnson

Janice A. Johnson, 86, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 with her children and family by her side. She was born May 17, 1939 in Baskett, KY to the late Jack and Mary (Schaeffer) Roll.

She grew up in Evansville, IN and graduated from Bosse High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Evansville. Janice was the director of the Arthritis Foundation for 20 years. She found joy in working with her coworkers and volunteers and organizing many memorable fundraising events such as the Jingle Bell Run, 8 Ball Classic Pool Tournament and wine festival.

Janice also enjoyed the beauty of nature and was from a sports loving family. She loved playing tennis and golf with her sister, Cheri. She also was a fan of watching tennis tournaments, St. Louis Cardinals, Indiana Pacers and her alma mater the Purple Aces basketball games.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Sarah); daughter, Jill; grandson, Kyle; sisters, Cheri and Kathi; brothers, Jimmy and Kevin, many nieces and nephews she was close to, and her beloved dachshund, Maisy.

Janice was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, Jon and Lyman.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
