

Janiece was a 1960 graduate of Central High School. As a teenager, she worked as a car hop and a waitress at the Merry Go Round restaurant. She worked for three years at Mead Johnson, and was a 47 year employee at Sandleben Pharmacy and CVS where she retired due to illness. She was very active in Terrace Parke Baptist Church as treasurer of her Sunday School Class, the Kitchen Committee chairman, the Pastoral Search committee, and was a nursery attendant.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise Alvey and Robert Johnson; three step-brothers; grandparents, Earl and Mildred Johnson; and her beloved daughter, Connie Schweizer (Joe).
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gilbert (Butch) Pierce; daughters, Debbie Gonterman (Donnie) and Robin Dean (Billy); sister, Sharon File; brothers, Clarence Johnson (Jeanette) and Bruce Donahoo (Sonja); eight grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Janiece’s family would like to thank the caregivers at VNA Hospice for their loving and tender care given to her at all hours of the day and night. To HLS, thank you for your prompt attention on her medical equipment and supplies. Finally, we would like to give special heartfelt thanks to Pam Wampler.
Services will be Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Alexander North Chapel, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday, 3:00 until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
