Obituary of Janis Sue French
Janis Sue French, 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Evansville. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 30, 1949 to the late Donald and Betty Sue (McLoughlin) Barnes. She was affectionately known as “Mammy” and “Tete” by her family and friends. Janis enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and loved spending time with her family. She loved her birds, Gonzo and Rainbow. Janis was preceded in death by her son, Tony Negron; siblings, Gayle, Kathy, Freddy, Sadan, and Terry. She is survived by her husband, Michael A. French; sons, Joseph Negron (Heather), and Michael Negron (Pam); grandchildren, Nico, Cecily, Dylan, Bailey, Brittany, Justin, Shane, Brittany, Ashley, Amanda, Joe-Joe, and Tyler; great grandchildren, Xavier, Kingston, Jayden, Leland, Daylen, Alania, Adlynn, Conner, Levi, Emily, Bently, Ryland, Grayson, Macala, Emmy, and Blythe; brother, Kenneth Foster; sisters, Jessica Cabassa, and Tammy Foster; and niece, Kimberly Lindsey. The family would like to thank the staff at Deaconess Gateway for their care and kindness. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street. Burial will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
