She graduated from Bosse High School and then went on to graduate from the University of Evansville and Indiana University, where she obtained her Master’s Degree. Jeanne retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation where she taught second grade at Glenwood Elementary her entire career. She was an avid Aces and IU basketball fan. Jeanne enjoyed traveling the world, was an avid reader and loved animals, especially her Siamese cat Mai-Ling. She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and supported United Caring Services, Habitat for Humanity Evansville and the Vanderburgh County Humane Society.
Jeanne is survived by her cousins Jane Lanning Leach (Bob), Susan Wirthwein, Lisa Wirthwein, Kevin Wirthwein (Erin), Christopher Wirthwein (Sally) and David Wirthwein (Shannon), and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel followed with a private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
