

John was a proud member of the Navy, serving during WWII aboard the USS Prairie.
He retired from Whirlpool as a mechanic.
John was a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved tinkering in the garage. He was extremely humble yet was very generous with his time and skills.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marks; daughter, Glenda Hudson; son-in-law, Wayne Hudson; brothers, Bethel, Didley, Lemual, Willie, and Ben Marks; sisters, Imogene Brooks and Jo Toombs.
John is survived by his grandchildren, Kathy Kimberlin (Kash) of Hartford, KY where he had lived, John W. Hudson (Tricia), Jane Russelburg (Scott), Fred Hudson (Melanie) of Owensboro; brother, Bobbie Marks; great-grandchildren, Bryan and Kyle Sweeney, Kyra and Zane Hudson, Scotty and Michael Walters, Easton Russelburg, Bella Vasquez, Draven Hudson; Five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Alexander East Chapel with burial at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
