

Joseph Michael Whitehead, 75, of Evansville, passed away on March 17th. Born on December 31,1949, Joe was a man of many talents and a loving family member who brought joy and wisdom to all who knew him.
A 1968 graduate of North High School, Joe went on to become a skilled CAD designer, known for his precision and dedication to his craft. He proudly served in the Navy, a testament to his deep sense of duty and love for his country. Throughout his life, Joe had a passion for woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that often reflected his meticulous attention to detail and creativity. He also had a knack for sharing “facts known by few,” delighting those around him with his unique knowledge and storytelling. Joe’s favorite color was clear, a fitting symbol for his straightforward, genuine nature. His love for family, his sense of humor, and his boundless wisdom will forever be missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his infant son, Shawn Michael, his parents Ira Lowell and Vera Jewel Whitehead, and his brothers Lowell Kent and Stephen Tod.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 35 years, Kimanna, and his children: daughters Kelsey and Chrystel, son Patrick, and adoptive son David Scott. He is also survived by his sisters, Pam, Kathleen, and Becky, and his brother, Greg, as well as many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Deaconess Hospice, Dr. Dela Llana, Michelle, the Care Forth Team, Amy, and Katie, for their compassionate care and support during Joe’s final days.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a future time. Joe’s legacy of love, kindness, and knowledge will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
