IN THE CARE OF
Alexander Funeral Home-West Chapel
Kitty Lynn (Merida) Massie, 63, of Princeton, passed away at home after a battle with cancer and her family by her side, on April 9, 2018. She was born November 17, 1954, in Evansville, IN to the late Jessie James and Japonia Sue (Gasaway) Merida.
She loved animals and worked for Animal Control for three years, saving as many of them as she could. Kitty also worked at Woodbridge Nursing Home for eight years, and for Gen Corp for 13 years with her dear friend, and now part of the family, Pat Snyder. Kitty leaves behind her babies, Queenie, and Charlie, who went to Heaven the night before Kitty passed and was waiting on her in Heaven. Kitty never turned her back on anyone. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an angel, and will be watching over all of us now as an angel with wings.
Kitty was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Jack Massie, Jr.; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Ashley (Gary II) and Mandy Massie; sons, Jack E. Massie III, Steve Russell (Cassidy Gentry) and Shaun Massie; grandchildren, Jessy Barnett, Kennedy Salts, Jasmine Barnett, Jade Barnett, Kameron Ashley, Shayla Massie and Serenity Mae Gentry; brother, Jimmy Merida; sister, Cindy Norman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the entire staff of Deaconess VNA Hospice for their care and compassion.
