Obituary of Loretta M. King
Loretta M. King, 77, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 03, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Loretta “Sis” was born December 15, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana. She attended Central High School and worked many years as a waitress at the Knotty Pine, 11th Frame Lounge and also with the EVSC. Loretta enjoyed chocolate (a lot), knitting, reading, bingo, traveling, and attending University of Kentucky basketball games with her husband, David, until back issues made travel difficult. Loretta and her husband also enjoyed helping and providing for their children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elwood, and Henrietta Shrodes, she was preceded in death by brother Elwood “Bubby” Shrodes and two sisters, Norma Waters and Wanda Grubbs. Loretta is survived by her husband of 52 years, David E. King; three sons and their wives Tony and Julie King, Darren and Kristen King, and Darrell King; grandchildren Daniel, Amanda, Aaron, Dalton, Deyton, Austin and Connor King; first great-grandson, Carson, is due in December; sister Brenda Berry. Respectfully, only family will visit Monday November 9, 2020 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street with services and burial to follow at Alexander Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Waters. Masks must be worn by all who attend services at the funeral. Please do not feel obligated to attend services if you are uncomfortable or feeling unwell.
