Margie J. Johnson

Margie Jean (Miles) Johnson, 89, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She of the youngest child of eight children, born to the late Mr. Raymond Austin and Florence (Norris) Miles on October 27, 1935.

Margie attended Assumption grade school and graduated from Mater Dei in 1954. She then went on to De Vry beauty college and received her degree in cosmetology. She had opened a beauty shop of her own and later opened a shop in her home.

In her younger years, Margie enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her friends. She loved crafting, sewing, holiday decorating, flower gardening, and rummage sales.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Johnson; daughter, Julia Lynn Johnson; sisters, Rosemary Mildred Kaylor and Julia Wilson; and brothers, Russell Miles, Joseph Miles, and Raymond E. Miles.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Johnson; sons, Ted Johnson, Jr. (Lisa) and Mike Johnson (Mary Beth); sister. Mary Lou Reising; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Bill Altman. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
