Marian Joyce Ferguson

Marian “Joyce” Ferguson, 88, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at home surrounded by family. She was born August 14, 1925, in Evansville, to the late James and Lena (Hendricks) Baggett.

She loved family gatherings and was a talented cook, known for her cakes and cream puffs. In her younger years she enjoyed singing at local entertainment spots. She worked most recently at Solarbron as Head of Housekeeping.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dale Ferguson; son, Ronald Owens; granddaughter, Misty Owens; great-grandson, Aaron Wilson; three brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Maurine Mattingly; grandchildren, April (Al) Brandt, Heather Wilson, Chrystal Williams, Amberina Travers, Burbon Shelley, Ronald, Kristen, Desirea and Moses Owens; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 14, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
