Marjorie Rose Spayd

Marjorie Rose Spayd, 85, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019. She was born on November 11, 1933 in Selvin, Indiana to the late Arthur and Sylvia (Powers) Lamar.
She was a cheerleader and graduate of Selvin High School. Marjorie was a homemaker until her children graduated from high school. She then worked some at the IGA Grocery in Dale, Indiana and The Luggage Shop at the Evansville Mall. But her favorite and longest-held job was as a librarian assistant who was responsible for “Talking Books” at the Evansville Public Library. She was very much into her children’s sports, especially in their large back yard in Dale. Marjorie loved to travel after her retirement.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Spayd, in April, 2015.
She is survived by her brother, Max Lamar (Della Lee); Also, by her four children, Alan Spayd (Joyce) of Indianapolis, Stan Spayd (Donna) of Evansville, Randy Spayd (Dawn) of Jasper and Debra Spayd of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
