Martha "Aunt Chick" Frances Cooksey Bost

Martha graduated from Bosse High School in 1954. She began her work life at SIGECO, where she met her future husband, Louis M. Bost, Jr. They were married June 17, 1955.

Martha retired from Whirlpool in 1997, after 33 years. She retired a second time after working four years at Mead Johnson, Bristol Meyer. At age 69, she returned to work part time for four more years as Office Manager in a one-person office at Evansville Dance Theater.

Martha was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing Clabber, studying Spanish, watching old movies, listening to music, and traveling.

Martha is survived by her daughter Alice and Jim Wootton of Louisville, daughter-in-law, Mary Bost of Evansville, grandson Kurt and Marimar Wootton of Mérida, Mexico, granddaughter Angela and Nick Truitt, grandsons A.J. Bost, Jr. and Belinda Breivogel of Evansville and Louis III and Karol Bost of San Antonio, Texas. Also, great grandchildren Mason Bost, Tyler Wathen, Sandra and Luis Wootton, Louis IV, Joseph and Jacob Bost. Step great-grandchildren Brennan, Bryleigh and Samuel Truitt; Sydney and Maddie Breivogel, sister Mary Jo and Jim Watson of Sparta, Tennessee, one niece and ten nephews and countless devoted friends.

Martha was preceded in death in 2011 by her husband of 56 years Louis Mason Bost, Jr. She was also preceded in death in March 2023 by her son, Andy Bost, Sr., her brother Ben Cooksey and baby sister Patsy Cooksey.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel.
