Mary Ferne Madden Julian

She was born May 11, 1911, in rural Warrick County, near Stanley, IN. The family moved to Lynnville where she lived until she graduated from Lynnville High School in 1929. She then moved to Evansville to attend Deaconess School of Nursing. Following graduation in 1932 she worked as an RN at Deaconess Hospital. She married Jess Julian in 1935 and they lived in Evansville until his death in 2000. She later moved to Florida and then Colorado to be near her sons. She was a long time member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church, and will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman, a devoted and loving mother and wife.

Ferne is survived by sons, Jerry Julian of Centennial, CO, David Julian of Bartley, NE and Donald Julian of Mountain Home, ID; grandchildren, Charles Julian of Denver, CO, Amanda Foster (Julian) of Englewood, CO, Jacqlyn Julian of Centennial, CO, Julie Stevens (Julian) of Lakewood, CO, Doug Julian of Boise, ID; great-grandson, Owen Stevens of Lakewood, CO; nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Dr. James Frazier, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
