Melvin Donald “Moose” Mossberger, 83, entered into eternal life on June 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 4, 1929, the first born child of Melvin W. and Ida (Graul) Mossberger. Mel started working at Whirlpool Corporation at age 18. During the Korean War, he joined the United States Air Force where his excellent marksmanship abilities earned him a spot guarding President Truman’s plane. After his military service, he returned home and worked at Whirlpool until retiring in 1990. On May 30, 1967 he married his best friend and love of his life, Judith Kay Fisher. Mel was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed archery, hunting, trapping, camping and fishing. He was a very skilled knife maker. Above all, Mel was a family man. He dedicated himself to being the best husband, father and grandfather that he could be. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Brown.
