Mildred Addis Nebeker Fitzsimmons

She was a longtime and very active member of Methodist Temple. She was also a member of DAR and PEO and had served as Chairman of Community Chest, which is now United Way. She retired from the University of Evansville.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Elvin Fitzsimmons, who passed away in 1955; parents, Albert James and Lydia (Hunt) Nebeker; and sisters, Louise Bodine, Frieda Robinson, Ethel Mae Hall and Lois Small.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane May and husband, Harry, of Potomic Falls, VA; son, Dr. Sam Fitzsimmons and wife, Pat, of Evansville; grandchildren, Steven Wahnsiedler of Wilmington, NC, Vicki Wahnsiedler of Potomic Falls, VA, Dr. Meg Maxwell of Indianapolis, Libby Raab of Menlo Park, CA, Kate Kuester of Evansville, Chris Harlow, David Harlow, Angie Martin, Lynne Price, Val Winkelman and Henry May; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Laxton, Simi Valley, CA.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Chris Neikirk, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
