

They moved back to Frisco, IN and then to Evansville, shortly after her birth.She was an employee of L Berman from which she retired. She was a member of St. Peters' UCC for 72 years and enjoyed working at the church making coffee cakes for the Fall Festival and Bake Sales. Mildred was a 50 year member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 60 years to her husband, Delbert Kuhlenschmidt. She always read her devotions, the newspaper, and she loved reading books and doing word find puzzles. Mildred was very family oriented. She never missed sending cards at Christmas, get well cards, and birthday cards to all family members and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Kuhlenschmidt; sister, Blanch Oestereicher brothers, Jimmy Oestereicher and George Oestereicher; one grandson, Patrick Lee Stock; and sisters in law, Charolette Oestereicher, Evelyn Stewart (John), Elveria Deutsch (Edward), and Jerry Herke (Bernard); brother-in-law Leroy Kuhlenschmidt (Mary).
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Alford (Ron) and Della Stock (John Sr.); grandson, John E. Stock, Jr. (Laura); 3 great grandchildren, Brandt, Taylor, and Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Mildred's caregivers: Barb, Lisa, Denise, and Payton, for their care and compassion.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's UCC, Shriner's Hospital, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
