Patricia R. (Hedges) Walter

Patricia R. (Hedges) Walter, 91, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Good Samaritan Home. She was born February 25, 1928 in Clinton, IN to the late Samuel and Floris (Wheeler) Hedges. She had a strong passion for volunteering and being involved in her community. She volunteered for the March of Dimes for 21 years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she was a librarian for 21 years. Patricia then volunteered at St. Wendel for 8 years as a librarian. Patricia was an avid reader, loved music and loved to dance. She and her husband, Bob, loved to spend time outdoors working with their flower gardens. Patricia loved spending time with her family and always welcomed friends into her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert “Bob” J. Walter, and grandson, Brent Lunceford. Patricia is survived by daughters, Kathleen Koch (Allen) and Carla Lunceford (Ronald); son, Scott Walter (Delana); grandchildren, Gregory Koch, Laura Grimes and Kevin Walter; great-grandchildren, Jordan Grace Grimes, Jayden Walter and Adlee Walter; sister, Myrtie Jo Nagel, and several nieces and nephews. Pat’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan Home for their care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Chaplain Tara Powell.
