Phyllis "Jean" Gentry-Fox

Jean and Doug enjoyed travelling to Florida and boating with friends. She volunteered with AmVets, which included work with the Special Olympics. Jean and Doug enjoyed many years at their house on the river at Old Henderson Road spending time with friends and family. She was a professional woman that worked in management and business administration for years and retired from the County Garage.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Gentry; sister, Janet Murray (Wayne); and nephew, Terry Murray.

Jean is survived by her husband, Doug Fox; daughter, Renee Gentry, and children Bill, Maile and Heather Gentry; son, Brian Fox; grandson, Kegan; granddaughter, Kayden; great-granddaughter, Peyton; great-grandson, Dakota; sister, Debi Ross; nephews, Jeremy Ross, Jason Ross, Joshua Haynes, and Brian Murray; and niece, Julie Cassin.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. to service time on Friday at the funeral home.
