

Queenie enjoyed listening to her favorite gospel songs, reading her bible; in her quieter times, she enjoyed relaxing and watching her favorite shows: The Rifleman, Rawhide, and on Saturdays, Svengooli, which brought her joy.
She had cherished times with her late sister, JoVern, for many years. Their bond was unbreakable. Queenie loved family gatherings when all the kids and grandkids were around, it made her feel complete. She had a warm, kind, sweet spirit. She parted this earthly life in peace and went home to be with her heavenly father, her lord and savior. Queenie Earned her wings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Zolla Mae Standard and JoVern Stone; and a niece, Sonji M. Stone.
Queenie is survived by her daughters, Pamela J. Duerson and Carolyn M. Stone; grandchildren, Karen E. Stone, DeAnna M. Duerson, Carloz L. Duerson, Vanessa M. Wakefield, Chad D. Thomas, Amarcis J. Stone and Alecia M. Stone; 10 great grandchildren; nephew, Matthew W. Shepard; nieces, Elizabeth Cooper and Sirena R. (Lonnie) Watson II; great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
Family and friends may visit on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Queenie faithfully supported her favorite charities, Children of St. Jude, whom she called her babies, always making sure to take care of them. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Feed the Children, Evansville Firefighters or Evansville Police Department.
