Raymond E Thacker

Our beloved dad, Raymond “Ray” Earl Thacker, passed away peacefully at the age of 89, August 31, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born to the late George and Susan Thacker in Evansville, IN on April 22, 1932.

Ray was raised in the Catholic faith. He served in the Korean War, and he left with a honorable discharge. He worked at Arkla and went on to work and retired from Welborn Hospital as an electrical technician after 32 plus years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and old western TV and movies with his fur baby on his lap, “Fidgy,” his cat. Ray could fix anything and make it work, especially lawnmowers.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years Delois (Dee) Thacker; parents, George and Susan Thacker; son, Kenneth E. Thacker; and his brothers and sisters.

Ray is survived by his children, Larry (Donna), Tony (Becky), Brenda (Greg); brother-in-law, Kenny Webb (Mary); grandchildren, Lindsey (Frats), Todd (Angel), Cory (Hannah), Dustin, Tim (Lisa), Tammy (Lance); great grandchildren, Caleb, Kelsey, Graycen, Hadley, and Avery; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with burial to follow. Friends may visit 11:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
