Sarah Marie Karsten

Our dearest sweet angel, Sarah Marie, 32, of Newburgh, IN departed this world to be welcomed into our Lord’s warm and loving embrace on December 25, 2018. She was born on March 21, 1986 in Evansville, IN to Ken and Monica Karsten of Newburgh, IN. Sarah was a 2004 graduate of Castle High School and attended the University of Southern Indiana.

In her youth, Sarah enjoyed numerous activities including soccer, cheerleading, Girl Scouts, swimming and leisure time spent with her friends. Sarah was also active in her church. She was devoted to music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ; and the flute in the Castle Marching Knights. She thoroughly enjoyed singing and was a dedicated member of the Evansville Children’s Philharmonic Chorus. The heavenly choir rejoices for Sarah as an addition to their ensemble. Sarah also loved to travel and created many lasting memories with her family.

Sarah was a dedicated stay-at-home mother for her cherished 6 year old daughter, Brynn Martin. Sarah loved and loves her, misses her immensely, and will always be watching over her until they are reunited in Paradise.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Brynn (Martin), parents Ken and Monica Karsten, brother, Aaron Karsten, and uncle John Sauer. Sarah was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Alexander East Chapel Funeral Home will host a visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday Feb. 18th. The Funeral Service, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Wenig, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 19th at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer (Lincoln Ave.). Visitation at the church will be held from 9-10 a.m. The Burial Service follows immediately at the Lutheran Cemetery (St. Joe Ave.).
