Obituary of Steven Anthony Greenwell
Steven Anthony “Tony” Greenwell, 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1948, in Evansville, IN to the late Joseph and Dolores (Schminke) Greenwell. Tony was a 1966 graduate of North High School. He was a Tool and Die Maker/Machinist, DoAll Salesman, and owner of Crown Tool & Saw. He was a 45 year member of Ducks Unlimited and Life Sponsor. He was on the Board of Directors and a dedicated volunteer of the Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge. In 2019, he received the Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge Volunteer of the Year award. He achieved the Department of Natural Resources Indiana Master Naturalist and DU Conservation Service Award. Tony was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was dedicated to environmental protection and wetlands preservation. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Greenwell, and sister, Dorothy Main. Tony is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathleen (Dunkel) Greenwell; sister, Sue Swenson (Bruce); daughters, Amity Greenwell, Sara Speicher (Eric), Olivia Westbrook (Wynn), and Elizabeth Mathew (Nick); grandchildren, Dylan Anderson, Alexandra Jackson (Jerrell), Kayla Tharp (Trevor), Kason Riffert and Ty Riffert; great grandchildren, Skyler, Amira, Praxton, Trenton, and Harper. A private service will be held, with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
