Hey dad, thinking of you a lot today. I miss you so much

Dad- I know your looking down at everything that's going on. No words need to be said. You already know :) I love you dad. And miss you more and more every day.

Hey dad! I was thinking about you today and just wanted to remember a great time we had togeather. With winter weather comming up, I was thinking of all the times you took me sledding And how much fun we had. I would beg " just one more time!!" And we would do it at least 20 more times.  Our fingers, toes and every other body part would be frost bit or frozen by the time we were done! Your the best dad !! Love and miss you !!

I have Steven son his son name Steven Jr  I love this man with all my heart and I will miss very steve tell Daddy hi for me please I miss you so much Steven and I love you very much may God be with you forever.

Dad- I can't even begin to describe how great you were in everything you did. You helped out everyone and any one that needed it. You put everyone's needs ahead of your own. I was scrolling thru my phone today and came across your number. It's only been 3 days since you have been gone but it feels like forever. I love you with all my heart dad. Always

Thank you for all of your kind words. 
My dad was so much more than what we could put in the paper. As you may or may not know, we thought that we were going to have more time with dad. More time for him to say goodbye to all of the people he loved. But that wasn't the case. God took him very quickly. Dad was so sick and he didn't want anyone to see him in the hospital. Dad just kept telling my sister and I that he was feeling much better and was going home in a few days. I am going to spend the rest of my life trying to be at least half the person my dad was. I love you dad. I will keep you in my heart forever.

Sorry to hear about Steve's passing.  I remember running around with him and Brad in high school and the great times we had. My prayers are with his family at this most difficult time.

 I will always remember the fun we had working the bean fields for Toby. My heart goes out to Toby,Brad,and Shirley. Rest in Peace Steve. Thoughts and prayers for all of Steve's family.

Shirley, Toby, Brad and the rest of your family, please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of Steve.  Steve's huge heart and caring touched many people even at a very young age.  I know, I am one.  I remember the last time I saw Steve he stayed at my house for a few weeks on his way to Alaska in a "Hille-billy" converted car for the trip up the Alaska Highway.  He was really enjoying his adventure.  Steve, you'll be missed.

Suzie,  I am so sorry for your loss.  I know that you knew what a good guy Steve was, what a heart of gold he had.  He did not live a boring life, he lived a full life on his own terms and I will mess him so.

Shirley, so sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  He was a kind and courteous young man.  My heart goes out to you.

I would like to offer my condolences to Toby, Brad and the rest of Steve's family. I also feel the need to tell this story to do with Steve.    

About 10 years ago I bought an old S10 Chevy truck to haul things around town in. After Carla's,  (my daughter's mother's), car broke down I let her use it to get back and forth to work. I explained to her that the engine would require for her to maintain the oil level diligently, as it had 220,000 miles on the little 4 cylinder power plant. Of course, at that time of my life I was not fully aware of how mechanically challenged most women are. For that reason I was somewhat shocked when she called me a few weeks later and told me how my "piece of junk" truck was making a very loud noise in the engine. After assessing the problem and not wanting to get into a major repair on the vehicle I called my step brother, Steve Hille to ask him to tow it away for me. Those of you who know Steve, are probably familiar with the fact that he had a salvage yard out in Posey County, west of Evansville. Since I didn't have a title to the truck, because a lien had been placed on it by the State of Indiana Child Support Bureau, I offered the truck to Steve in payment for the favor, which he accepted since he had the means to deal with it at the yard. The truck was at Fairfield Inn west, as that was where Carla worked, and I met Steve there.  When he arrived I expressed my gratitude for him towing the truck  on such short notice for me. Well, Steve took the truck and a few weeks or a month or two later I ran into him somewhere and he said it worked out really well for him as a yard truck after getting some oil in it, even though the engine made a bit of noise he could haul stuff around the yard. I did finally satisfy the lien with the state, although I had forgotten about that title, and I guess they did also.
     Approximately 9 years later, I was extremely saddened when my sister, Jacquie Harmon called me, Saturday morning after working 3rd shift, to inform me that Steve had passed away. I had worked 13 hours, along with driving back and forth to Princeton and was extremely tired, and expressed to her that I had about 6 hours to sleep before having to get up to do it all over again. I slept my six hours, got up and made coffee and prepared to go back to work, as Toyota scheduled work for this weekend. After getting ready for work, and as I was leaving my apartment, I glanced at my phone, saw that it was exactly 4:30 pm, opened the door to leave and immediately checked my mail, as my custom is, and pulled an envelope from the mailbox  with the return address of the State of Indiana Child Support Bureau. Having completely forgotten about the truck, wondering what they would have to do with me now, I had no clue that the title to that truck was in the envelope. I immediately called my sister Jacquie, remembering all of this at once, and asked her when Steve had passed. She informed me that he passed Friday 09/05/2014 at 4:30 pm. I received the title Saturday 09/06/2014 at 4:30 pm.
   I immediately began to reflect on Steve's life and all of my interactions with him, dating back to the 1960's on Old Henderson Rd. I spent my night working, not being able to get him off my mind and the absolutely mathematically impossible events that transpired over nearly a decade to bring me to this state of meditation over a friend's life. This allowed me to actually stop and grieve the loss of this friend, which I have been doing since Friday at 4:30 pm.

Shirley so sorry to hear about Steve.  He was such a nice respectful young man. My heart goes out to you all.

I've known Steve since grade school. He's touched the heart of many from Alaska to Louisiana.He rescued many of dogs in his life & they would travel everywhere with him. The knowledge that he had & the storied he could tell, WOW. The love he had for his family was priority to him & unconditional. 
Cancer doesn't pick but God chooses who he brings home and Steve is there, & will still be living off the land.  
He will be missed by many. With deepest sympathy and prayers,

My prayers for the whole family.   Steve is my step brother.  He called me within the past month or so just checking on me and my family.  He was talking about wanting to head south again.  I told him to come on down, and we'd have room for him.  Steve was always really good to me.  He came down south in 2005 for work. and took my dog home with him, because I was moving.  Steve, my dog, and Zeus ran around for several years.  Good times.  Good man.  Love you bro.
