Sylvia R. Hobgood

She was a longtime member of Howell General Baptist Church and active in her Challengers Sunday school class. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved attending all her grandchildren’s activities. Her outgoing spirit and personality allowed her to be blessed with many wonderful friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wade Hobgood; and grandson, James Lopp III.

She is survived by her daughters, Gina Schaar (Barry) of Evansville and Judy Radeloff (Rick) of Mt. Carmel, IL; grandchildren, Lindsay Schaar, Meredith Schaar, Kristi Wiggins and Amy Gordon; and great grandchildren, Abigail and Austin.

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Br. Terry Gamblin, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the health care team at St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Good Samaritan Pavilion for their compassionate care.
