A true lady in every way, Billie will be remembered for her grace and kindness, her love of Christ and as a devoted mother, caregiver and homemaker — an irreplaceable woman in the lives of so many.
Born to John “Luther” Walls and Emma Mae (Duley) Walls on April 17, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, IN. Billie was a graduate of the Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand where she nurtured her lifelong devotion to Christ. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Altar Society and attended Lockyear Business College, followed by employment with Old National Bank and as a manager of multiple properties in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. An accomplished seamstress, Billie also enjoyed flowers, bridge club and arts and crafts. Billie was most recently a resident of Good Samaritan Home in Evansville, where she won the hearts of many and received incredible love and care, most especially from Latrice Lawson, from Evansville.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband of 63 years, Alfred M. Adler, (who lovingly referred to her as his little “cupcake”). She will also be reunited in heaven with her brother, Arthur Walls; granddaughter, Eugenia Koch; sister-in-law, Katie McFatridge Walls; and sons-in-law, Eugene Koch and Gerald Brady.
Billie left an incredible legacy that includes a daughter, Connie (Adler) Koch Brady; sons, Donald (Sherry) Adler and Mark (Beverly) Adler; grandchildren, Kevin (Di) Koch of Bozeman, MT, Gerald “Joe” (Stacy) Brady and Dawn Brady (Mark) Hiner of Linhaven, FL, Linda Williams of Henderson, KY, Sarah Adler (Ryan) Hasenour of Haubstadt, IN, Adrienne (Adler) (Kegan) Humphrey of Corydon, IN, Josh (Shyla) Adler of Haubstadt, IN, Lindsey (Adler) (Ryan) Kerney of Evansville, IN, and Adam Adler and Aaron Adler of Haubstadt, IN; and beautiful great-grandchildren, Alex, Crewe, Wren, Calin, Avery, Liam, Chelsi, Harley and Amanda.
We will celebrate her full and beautiful life at 10:00 AM Friday, July 28, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson, followed by entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, with a memorial service taking place at 7:00 PM.
