Connie is the devoted wife of the late Robert Woten Sr.; loving and cherished mother to Laurice (Larry) Karnett, Yvonne (George Jr.) Tabb, Robert Jr. (Kathy) Woten, and the late Ronald Sr. (Mary Ann and the late Alisa Shears) Woten; proud grandmother to Elizabeth Woten, L. Renee (Chris) Knox, Ronald Jr. (Linda) Woten, Robert III (Tiffany) Woten, Shana Woten, the late Salina Tabb, Lindsay Woten, Evangela McGowan and Ariel Watson; kind-hearted great grandmother to Nathan, Logan, Leslie, Kanisha (Angel), Jessica, Alicia, Jasmine, Dionte, Kanisha, Jelani, Clayton Jr., Noah, Hannah, and Moriah; blessed great-great grandmother to Kenny, Max, Kamani, Kaniylah, and Amires; dear sister to the late Quintant Sr. (the late Bernice) Burnett, the late Percy Burnett, the late Ora Lee (the late Milton Sr.) Scott, and Jessie (the late John Sr.) Watson; thoughtful cousin to Claudelle Shaheed, Dorothy Moody and Earline Jenkins; sweet Aunt Connie or Aunt Lou to a host of nieces and nephews; and loving Christian example to honorary grandchildren, friends and one fee-i-end, Nellie Davis.
She earned her nursing license at Creiger Vocational School. Connie was a licensed practical nurse for the Chicago Municipal Tuberculosis Sanitarium, Chicago Alcoholic Treatment Center and Englewood Health Center. Connie was a faithful member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 50 years, where she served joyfully.
Visitations will be Friday, October 11, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Kenny Brothers Funeral Directors (3600 W. 95th Street; Evergreen Park, IL 60805); and again from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral at First Immanuel Lutheran Church (1124 S. Ashland Avenue; Chicago, IL 60607). Connie will be laid to rest at Lincoln Cemetery (12300 S. Kedzie Avenue; Chicago, IL 60655).
