

On October 17, 1936, Pleas and Cynthia Bradley (Both preceded her in death) were blessed with the birth of their 3rd child, a beautiful bubbly baby girl who they named Gwendolyn.
Gwen attended Douglas Elementary school and was a graduate of Philips High School where she studied French, business, typing and shorthand.
Gwen enjoyed all genre of music from Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and the famed Walter Hawkins singers. She was especially fond of Broadway musical and the Theatre. Reading great literature was a favorite pass time; her favorite book of all was the Holy Bible.
Gwen met the love of her life at a young age and knew it was destined that they would spend the rest of their lives together. They were married and two beautiful children were born to this blessed union Michael (preceded her in death) and Beverly.
Gwen was always a supportive wife and believed strongly in the vision of her husband, whom she respected and sincerely cherished. The love shared between Gwen and Vernal was deeply rooted in passion and expressions of gentleness, unexplainable to anyone who hasn’t experienced true love in its purest form. She loved and honored Vernal.
Gwen was an apprentice of the world renowned Patricia Vance Modeling and finishing School, where she was asked to be an instructor. Gwen was statuesque, well- groomed, and elegant. She was affectionately called “Elizabeth Taylor” for her unparalleled beauty. She was a member of the well known social club the “Dior’s.” Gwen was the ultimate socialite. Because she was great at handling finances the “Dior’s” made her the treasure, and she handled the Christmas savings accounts for the entire club!
Gwen and Vernal, Joined Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church in 1968, at its inception where Apostle Richard Henton, brother of Vernal is the Pastor. They knew that Monument was the church home for them. Gwen loved the Lord whole heartedly, over the years she served in several areas of ministry from the Voices of Monument choir to the President of the Hospitality Committee.
A major link in the chain has been broken, Gwen will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Vernal, her loving daughter Beverly, and her beautiful Grand-daughter Jorie Henton-Hazel (Bill), One brother Philip Bradley (Gerry), four great-grandchildren Dominique Glass, Deanna Glass, Jorianna Hazel and William Michael Hazel, three great-great grandchildren, Damorea Glass, Amiya Glass and Paris Pitts, 3-God-children Angeline Moyes, Amethyst Turner and Brandy Green, A host of nieces, nephews, friends and family
