Irene Helen Ontko

Irene H. Ontko, age 89, of Fairborn, died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St. Leonards. She was born the daughter of Peter & Anna (Minovsky) Mnich on October 14, 1926 in Pleasant City, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Emil R. Ontko, sister Ann, and brothers Albert, John, and George. Irene is survived by her daughter Doreen (Larry) Jackson, sons Neal (Linda) Ontko, Brian (Mary) Ontko, Tim (Pat) Ontko, sisters Mary Matias and Betty Merva, a brother Nick Minich, grandchildren Emily Dodge, Mary (John) Bucher, Nicholette, Miranda, Megan, Erin, Alison, Jackson, Christopher, and Carly Ontko, great grandchildren Hannah, Jackson Jr., Kaidance, Makayla, and Anna. Irene was a longtime active member of the Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church where she devoted herself to the Parish Festival, the Rosary Alter Society, the Bereavement Committee, and in the school health clinic. She was a Red Cross volunteer and a volunteer with the Dayton Dental Society Auxiliary. Irene was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who love her.

Friends may call on Friday, January 8, 2016 5PM – 7PM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10AM at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave Fairborn, Ohio with Rev. Charles F. Lang, Celebrant.
